This particular page is devoted to Copper Harbor, located on the very tip on the western part of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I have created a series of special places in the U.P. This is just the first in my series, so be sure to check out the other locations!

Well, it may not be the very highest point in the United States, but it sure feels like it! Highway 41 begins in Copper Harbor and goes all the way down to Miami, as the road sign indicates. This little town has lots of charm and natural beauty! Something for everyone!

A must see when visiting Copper Harbor is the lighthouse. People take a boat ride to the area where it is located and can venture around the walking trails and see the inside of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is set up like a museum and has lots of interested displays and information about how the lighthouse was used.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Beautiful, historic place
Cons:Can be a little touristy during the summer months

Yes! The Harbor Haus is the place to go. We go to Copper Harber every summer and the Haus is the finest restarant in the village.
