  • When the weather allows, London is a great place to walk. You can roam freely and end up in places that you never thought about. Walking on the South Bank is like that -although you don't have much chance of ending up at a different place since it's pretty much of a straight road- You will see lots of pubs, street entertainers, shopping stalls and get a beautiful view of the "other side" as well.

  • I'm sure Tower Bridge has been on every London traveler's page, but hey, it won't hurt just one more. So, you've walked by the river on the South Bank and finally reached the Tower Bridge. Which way do you head? Of course you cross the bridge, take pictures, preferably when one of the double decker buses is passing and head for the "monument".

Confession; it took me a long time to understand that it's actually called the Tower Bridge and not the London Bridge.

Piccadilly Circus: The Heart of London

  • Picadilly Circus is kind of the Times Square of New York. It's the meeting place of everyone, usually around the Eros Statue. (Sounds very romantic) Souvenir shops to buy the usual London mugs, maps, t-shirts, posters, hats, etc... This is also where you can see the famous actors on occasional movie premieres. Cafes, restaurant5s.

Do pay attention to the fountain with the horse statues on the corner first on your right , going towards Trafalgar Square after the Eros statue

Check out what's happening right now at the Picadilly Circus clicking the web site below.

Things To Do: St James' Park & Green Park

  • It's most of the time hard for me to tell where green Park ends and St James's start. They are not quite the same though. If the weather allows, enjoy a day watching the ducks, the lakes, sitting on a bench with a cup of coffee and a scone..

Check the website below for a listing of events...

  • So, after the stroll at the St James' Park, you pay the Queen a visit. Do check that British Soldier's are really frozen motionless.

However, if you wanna catch the change of the guard, be there a bit before 11:30.

  • This is a museum dedicated to everything DALI. It's recommended to everyone interested in Arts, especially Surrealism. It's possible to see Dali's paintings, sculpture and furniture designs -which made me wanna get one for my place, when we have one- and also buy everything DALI from the shop.
You can also see works of Picasso with a joint ticket from the Dali Universe, it is for limited time only though.

  • Visiting the London Eye is like going up the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Where you got a bird's eye view over the Thames. But it's better, because it feels like an amusement park too.

Try to book online and ahead to avoid the loooong lines and you can receive 10% discount on London Eye and discounts on other London activities.

If you're not on a budget, you can also arrange champagne or pimms and strawberries served in your cabin.

  • Exploring everything can take all day here. Among the interesting exhibitons, you can see -for science fiction lovers- coming to life the famous Douglas Adams' Hitchiler's Guide to the Galaxy series. Or, you can take a 3D safari through wildlife. There is also an IMAX cinema in the museum.

The entrance to the museum is free like most London museums. They do charge for the speacial exhibitons though.

  • When in London, defintely see a musical. london's West End offers so much choice! The classics like "Les Miserables" or "Phantom Of The Opera" have been on for years. Or the rock musical abour The band Queen and Fredyy Mercury "We Will Rock You". "The Stomp" is also a great exprerience with precussions.

Buy your tickets from theaters for full price or be at Leicester Square "half-price ticket booth" at 9:30 in the morning.

Do not buy your tickets from just anywhere on the street for sometimes same seat might be sold to different people at once.

The website offers useful information a list of everything showing and list of ticket booth etc.. You can choose a genre which are located at the bottom of the home page listed below.
