Whilst we flew into Sharm El Sheikh airport, we based ourselves just outside Na'ama Bay (near the Gardens Reef). Na'ama Bay along with Sharm is located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula.
Over a short period of time, Na'ama Bay as sprung up from a few huts on the beach to almost a mini city in its own right.
Na'ama Bay has everything you could possibly want from a resort apart from one thing - history. It has wall to wall hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs and is very commercialised however it does have the most amazing natural beauty in the form of the desert and the Red Sea.
The Red Sea will blow you away and you will see the most amazing fish and coral. The water is so clear and warm that it is a struggle to get out of it!
The downside to Na'ama Bay is that it doesn't really show the traveller/holidaymaker the 'real' Egypt so I would really recommend that you make an effort to get out of your hotel complex and experience what Egypt has to offer otherwise you will really miss out. |
