"Welcome to my modest world..." Pele_cool_boy's Profile
Hi everybody! I`m Pedja and I`m 18. (I was 18 in time i was writing this) :D
I live in a small town called Milici, in eastern part of the Republic of Serbs (Srpska), in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a small "mine" town, and in its municipality lays the biggest deposit of bauxite in Europe! About 7000 people live here. It`s 30km from border with Serbia, and about 110 km from Sarajevo (capital), and 200 km from Belgrade (capital of Yugoslavia). It`s on the road Sarajevo-Belgrade, and there is a good daily bus connection to these cities!
Probably you`ll ask me why did I put Belgrade for my home town. That`s because I adore that city, and because while my father was in the war in Bosnia, I was in Belgrade, and I grew up there.
Let me mention that my mother is from Belgrade. She was educated there, and my father too. They have met each other there! Whenever I have a chance, I go there. And I have many uncles, aunts and cousins living in Serbia. I consider Belgrade my capital.
Of course, it`s much easier to tell people that you are from Belgrade, because everyone knows where it is, and it is sometimes hard (and boring) to explain where do I exactly live!
I attend comprehensive school here in Bosnia, and I like it very much. It`s friendly, and my friends are here. In my class there are 37 pupils, (20 girls and 17 boys). I have 14 subjects. A typical day at school starts at 8.00 a.m. We usually have 5, 6, or 7 lessons. (1 lesson - 45min.) Our school is strict on discipline, and now we have new school building... It is awesome, we have new gym, good restaurant, big amphitheater but old teachers...
We learn three languages: english, russian and latin (and serbian, of course)! Russian is much easier for us, because it is similar to Serbian! Sometimes I don`t need translation at all! (Serbs write and Latinic and Cyrillic alphabet. You may use both. For example, I prefer our traditional-Cyrillic, but my parents don`t)
My biggest dream is to meet new people, new cultures, new countries...
I would like to explore the jungles of South America, view the Paris from Eiffel Tower, see the trafic jam in New York, eat the chinese food in Beijing, feel the atmosphere in sothern Asia, and much more... Financial situation is the only problem!!!
How many children have never left their homes?
How many children here do not have fathers because of the war?
How many children have never seen a sea water?
How many children do not know what the Internet is?
I am very satisfied with my life!
One of my biggest dreams is surely China... If I had money, I would go there...
I'll wave you from the Great Wall!!!
I like...
music,
Agatha Christie
good movies,
languages,
sunsets,
long-lasting friendships,
pen-pals,
animals,
cities,
maps, geography,
history (especially Serbian history),
discos,
my nation,
and I have enough love for all the people around the globe!
I do not like WARS.
P.S. Correct every my sentence, because I wrote this alone, and english is not my mother tongue! Especially I do not like the articles, I just don`t know where to put them!
And WRITE me! It is not important how old are you, what`s your religion, where do you live...
I will answer to anybody!!!

Pedja...Happy Birthday to you. Hope you have a fabulous day :-)
Awesome home page with a good view of a place I'm curious to visit. Your "motto" called my attention as my Dad used to like to say something similar, substituting "moment" for "minute"
Thanks for the b-day wishes =)).. have a great day, hana
a big hello and welcome to you and your classmates to VT, our virtual borderless, and botherless, world.
Welcome on board Pedja. Your English is fine, pal. Only one out of the last five comments is faultless. Have you read any of George Orwell's essays? His discussions on spoken and written English are enlightening.
