..."The filtered sunlight snuggled inside the interior of the bus. Most of everyone were tucked into a stupor blanket, exhausted after a long 5 hour hikes on the Great Wall. Sitting behind me, three young American lads were lamenting the language barrier and sharing valuable espionage on the best locations in Beijing to secure a good slice of pizza or a juicy burger. I found myself intrigued and couldn't resist eavedropping. I empathised.
Moments later, I offered the lads bags of potato chips to help stave off their hunger pangs and was richly rewarded in my face with the comment, when one of the lads turned to the other, "There must be a catch somewhere". Now overtly amused, in English, I deadpanned "There is no catch. It is a matter of whether you like the flavour or not." A round of sheepish laughter broke, amidst my best effort to find my eyeballs which had since rolled out of my eye sockets"...
