..."Friends have always asked me why am I so obsessed with this country. I countered what aren't there that you could not be obsessed about? The nearest country to Asia that is not Asian (you can say all you want John Howard) and despite the increasing Asian population and influences, remained very staunchly ivory western and ebony aboriginal at heart. A country of an island, blessed with rich natural irony. Jaw dropping natural wonders across the entire spectrum: Deserts, mountains, waterfalls, tropical jungles and that thing everyone called the Great Barrier Reef co-existed with some of the strangest and deadliest creatures you may find on this planet: The platypus (the only mammal with a sting), fiery spiders, insidious jellies and 11 of the world's most venomous snakes. I have come a long way and truly enjoy the company of the folks who cheer "Aussie Aussie Oui Oui Oui!", who can be brazenly frank, sarcastic and sometimes tactless. Then again, if I want Asian modesty, I would have stayed home"...

This is the Mother page to all my pages on Australia. I have decided to weed out the few repetitive tips on the other Australian cities and locations pages and merged them under 1 heading for convenience.

Feel free to access my individual Australian location pages below:
Canberra
Sydney & Parramatta (No intention to construct page)
Melbourne, Port Campbell & Ballarat
Adelaide & Glenelg
Perth, Fremantle & Rottnest Island
Brisbane, The Gold Coast & Cairns
The Northern Territories (Darwin, Alice Springs & Yulara-Uluru)
Tasmania (Hobart, Launceston & Cradle Mountain & Strahan)
Christmas Island (Indian Ocean)

To see more photos of the various Australian locations, please do access the galleries on my private website: IMPREXXUESSNISM

Drop me a comment if you think that this page has been useful. Thanks!

Pros:"An island bigger than Europe, so much variety in 1 place!"
Cons:"Underlying racism still persists beneath the skin"
In A Nutshell:"The nearest non-Asian place to Asia!"

I believe that thesse incidents are rare and isolated and you will not experience this level of intolerance at most major destinations.

Covert racism is alive and well, if not gathering steam. The most racism I've ever encountered was in QLD and it's strange that when you travel south of the border into NSW and Victoria, you feel human again. Great site you've got here.

It's a shame about the Asian teams, mate......I was hoping Korea would progress at France's expense! ;-) Who will you be cheering for at Wimbledon?

It's hard to beat an Oz brekky to start the day... and yes, 1 in 3 Aussies are of Irish descent :~)
