..."An exceedingly charming village, carved out of the land by the river Sure, and fortressed behind natural rock defences on one end and defended by a dam on the other. Almost fairy-tale like; like the Europe I have in my head. I had entered Luxembourg from nearby Bastogne and the contrasts between the 2 countries were stark. Lamp posts have suddenly bloomed out from the grounds and demarcation lines appear on the roads, denoting left and right. Compared to Belgium, Luxembourg is methodically tidy and orderly. If it weren't for the surrounding forests, I would have felt like I have never left home!"...

SWFC_Fan Sun Jun 11, 2006 17:45 UTC So many Greek islands to choose from, mate!! :-)) I'd recommend Naxos (for beaches and hiking)....it's also en-route between Athens and Santorini. Mykonos, Paros, Syros and Tinos are other options in the Cyclades....but Naxos gets my vote! :-) | Confucius Wed Jun 7, 2006 15:36 UTC Luxembourg needs a new flag because it resembles the Netherlands too much. Get rid of the blue and then it will look like Indonesia's. All red? No, it's the color of blood. I give up; maybe just all white. | Linda_T Sun Apr 16, 2006 07:57 UTC The village looks beautiful!! Your description and photo's are wonderful |
