I always have the impression that this is a nation that see themselves culturally Western but geographically Asian. So much attention is drawn towards a western way of life. It's cuisine is a mixture of Chinese-Malay-American-Spanish influences. People decides their political believes early and stick to it vehemenously. So much way-of-life liberalism exists in a country proud of its religious conservatism. They have rules but do not abide by it. Frustratingly confusing yet enigmatically amusing!"...

shopping is part of filipino lifestyle...so many malls here in every corner you will see one. the latest addition is sm mall of asia- the biggest mall in all of asia, 2nd in the world...manila is a shopping paradise

Haha! You definitely hit the nail on Manila Pro's and Con's! Its motto is really CHAOS! Haha! but it's also one colorful and wild city! That's true!

I am sure you really had a good experience in Manila especially in the shopping malls. Please do visit other places in the Philippines. Please do try Boracay, Cebu and Bohol to name a few. Cheers.

u surely described manila very aptly..ü u could see Filipinos everywhere and we fit in so well, that sometimes along the way we lose our own "filipinism"..sad but true..there's more beautiful places to visit other than manila, u should try it..ü

Looks like there's plenty of shopping options, but when it comes to eating, I'll stick with the mangoes and skip the sewer pipe smelling duck eggs!
