Niagara Falls: Take a Tour to Niagara Falls!
  • Tip Rating:
  • King's Tours (Niagaratours.ca) offers a day trip out of Toronto to both Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake with a stop at a local winery for a nice little wine tasting, at a decent price of $79 CAD.

The tour didn't go as we expected it to, in the words of my companion it was quite "cloak and dagger". After a phone call to the tour company after 20 minutes had passed past our pick-up time, we were assured that they were on their way. A man in suit and tie swept us away in his car to an "undisclosed location". I wasn't liking the scenario and questioned whether he was kidnapping us. We hopped out at a nearby hotel.

After another 40 minutes or so of confusion and shaking heads, it seems that the tour company had overbooked the tour. Up until this point I was not very thrilled with the service.

My companion and I, along with another young couple were assured that all was fine and that we would get there. A snazzy black SUV pulled up to the hotel and we were treated with our own personal driver...off we went.

We stopped at the Pillitteri Winery to taste some lovely wine and spent some time at the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our driver was friendly and we had a wonderful group in the car. Niagara Falls was beautiful and our Maid of the Mist tickets were included in the ticket price. 2 hours free time at Niagara Falls and back we went to our hotel.

Though I wouldn't say that the tour was organized as well as it could have been, I am willing to say it was a fluke and to praise them for finding us other means of transport to join the group. Many places I know would have just said "overbooked? sorry, here is a coupon for next time".

Even after all the chaos and confusion they said "if you don't like the tour, you don't pay". It was nice to find a company that really tried to keep their customers happy.

I enjoyed myself, and for this price I would definitely recommend this tour.
