"Scanno" Scanno by lombock

Scanno was built on a spur which looks on to the Sagittario valley and is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the province of Aquila. Scanno is worldwide the most famous village of Abruzzo.

Scanno rises amongst the highest, greenest mountains of the Appennines, near a natural lake shaped like a heart. It is an ancient village that has preserved its buildings, spots, places, ceremonies and monuments making it one of the most visited tourist resorts. The first hotels were built at the beginning of this century. Later on, they were enriched with leisure and sport-equipment, for instance swimming- pools and tennis courts for summertime tourism and skilifts in Monte Rotondo and in Passo Godi for winter tourism.
