As soon as I stepped into The Lobby I took in the site before me and gasped in amazement. It was much bigger than I thought it would be. There were very comfy looking armchairs and sofas scattered in the centre, surrounded by polished oak tables with glass display cases featuring a different Disney character in puppet form.
The decor was very Victoriana, even the staff were dressed in Victorian costume. The maids wore those frilly caps with big white aprons and the bell boys wore the clothes that the footman wore back then.
When we finally arrived at our room I jumped up and down in delight. It was everything I had expected it to be and more. In the corner was a huge Kingsize bed complete with a gorgeous bedspread, which featured all the Disney Fairies (Tinkerbell, The Three Fairies from Sleeping Beauty and The Blue Fairy). There was a very comfy, pastel green, sofa (which I think was also a sofabed) in the other corner next to a huge window complete with heavy velvet drapes, the view wasn't much but then we weren't going to be spending our time looking out of the window.
The bathroom was equally impressive with its huge gold framed mirror complete with twin basins on a marble countertop.
We had breakfast in The Inventions Restaurant, the food was pretty much what you would expect from any hotel, but the plus side was that a few Disney Characters would walk around greeting people. A word of advice go early to breakfast as the queues can get quite ridiculous. We went down at 8:30 every morning, which was a good time to go as there were only a few other breakfast goers.
The service we received was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and polite and always on hand if you ever needed any help. They even had a turndown service in the evening complete with Chocolate Mickey Coins.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone, if you are looking for the Ultimate Disney Experience this is it. You get to stay right in the Heart of the Magic and feel that burst of excitment everytime you look out of the window.
