Timisoara's the most important city in the western part of Romania and the capital of the Timis County, bordering Serbia and Hungary.
It's a very pleasant city, full of parks and gardens.
Don't miss visiting its 3 squares, the Unirii Square, with 2 churches, Liberty Square, with the Old City Hall, and Victory Square, with the Metropolitan Church and the Opera House.
Timisoara's mainly famous for the 1989 Revolution when Romanians got rid of their dictator Ceaushescu. It all started here, and you can see some memorials to the victims.
