Taxco

This is a very likeable city in the mountains 2.5 - 3 hours by bus from Mexico City. The mountains around the city are beautiful by themselves as well.

The city consists of mostly whitewashed buildings from the XVII century. There are a lot of silver stores, especially in the center.

It is fun just to walk around the city, but be aware that the streets are steep and it is fairly easy to get lost.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:history, natural setting
  • Cons:you have to be physically fit to enjoy it
  • In a nutshell:a great respite from the bustle of Mexico City

Taxco is such a lovely colonial city, also famous for its numerous shops selling silver jewellery. It seems you enjoyd strolling around as I did :)
