I lived in this city almost half of my life, and I still miss it. Even though many people do not think of it as a major destination, they miss out on a lot. This is a huge and bustling city, full of very diverse population, and offering a lot to see and experience. It is true that its sights are not well known and hidden from an unaware visitor. Come prepared and open-minded, and you will be profoundly surprised.
Most sights are located in or near the Museum district, where there is a fine statue of Sam Houston, the first president of Texas. |
| | Downtown One of the two focuses of the city, the skyline of the city is stunning and of the best in the US. At night on weekends, the city is full of some of the best clubs and bars you could find anywhere. |
| | Uptown & Galleria The second focus of the city is centered around the Galleria megamall and the Transco tower (now Williams). The area is home to upmarket shopping, hotels, offices, high-end residential developments. |
