This is one of the smallest independent countries in the world, but it did not fail to impress me. I will fondly remember my experiences here, in this little beautiful gem of a country. Even the rain did not prevent me from enjoying this place.
Luxembourg is splendidly landscaped: steep mountains covered by thick forests and excellent roads that traverse them. If it was not raining, and I had something better than a VW Polo, I would have enjoyed this country too much :D |
| | The city of Luxembourg is obviously the main site and the focal point. It is a small tidy endearing city. It's must see sites are the Place Guillaume II, the palace/ parliament complex a block East from it, the cathedral de Notre Dame, and the walk along the edge of the plateau to the South of the city center.
I very strongly recommend a side trip to the town of Vianden (see my off-the-beaten-track tip) with a magnificent castle and cobblestoned streets underneath. |
