This city is beautiful. Its architecture looks somewhat similar to New Orleans, but better. And New Orleans does not have a castle, nor a beautiful sea... And did I mention the gorgeous ladies that walk the streets? The only negative is that this place seems to be more expensive than the rest of Latin America - you will have a hard time finding a decent place to stay for less than $90-100. Taxis are also quite pricey. In costs, this is more in line with visiting a popular destination in the US. |
| | The city has preserved two of the three original castles built to protect it, as well as most of the original walls. They are truly impressive, and more than anything else makes the city feels special and important. |
See the travelogues for more photos of San Juan architecture. |
