This is an absolute must! It contains an amazing collection of gold pre-Columbian artifacts, as well as some pottery and basic information on the ancient history of Colombia. The main exhibit is as awesome as it is easy to miss. When you get to the top floor, walk into the large dark round room. The doors will close, and the lights will gradually turn on to reveal the treasures inside. DON'T MISS IT!

There is a chapel and a beautiful park on top of cerro Monserrate. You can take a funicular train up for 12K up and down. Views above of the city and the mountains are divine. But be aware that it will be quite chilly up here! You can walk up Calle 7 from Candelaria.

This is a pretty square full of people relaxing among pigeons. The Cathedral is here, Senate building, Mayor administration (Palacio Llevano), Supreme Court.

Named after a former president, this tasteful classical building is guarded like you would not believe. They don't allow photography, but I pretended I did not understand Spanish and was able to take this one.

The photo is of a church across the street. This is a pleasant space near Avenida Jimenez, Gold Museum. On weekends, bands play hear.

This pretty church with a small park in the front looks nice. Just beware that within a couple of blocks south the appearance of the buildings deteriorates greatly, streets become somewhat deserted, and it does not seem that it is a good idea to proceed much further.
