"South Manitou Island" Manitou Island by Eric-Sabin
Manitou Island Travel Guide: 0 reviews and 3 photos
South Manitou Island is about a 1.5 hour boat ride from Leland. The attraction is that there is not much on the island aside from nature, so you will want to bring a back pack with any needed food or amenities. Make sure you bring long pants and sleeves even if it is summer. Sometimes there are black flies on the island that leave nasty bites, and they are not affected by insect repellant. Most people come here for hiking or camping. There are trails all around the island. Some of the features are "the valley of the giants" (a group of cedar tress which reach over 100 ft.), Florence Lake and the shipwrecks on the islands south side.
