About Me Unfortunately I am now back home, and although I've escaped from the laborious world of the office job, I am chomping at the bit to get away and see more of the world. Now I find myself skating between jobs, financing more trips to Paris and Barcelona, and still trying to discover just what it is that I want to do with myself. |
Family travels Since the tender age of 5 I've been lucky enough to have annual holidays with my family, some years even two trips. I went to Spain for 4 consecutive years- Mallorca, Benidorm, etc before one of my favourite trips in '92 to Vancouver. We have family over there and stayed at their ranch. It was an amazing experience.
We went back to Spain the next year, but once we had got a taste for North America, my parents were scrimping and scraping to get back over there. The next time we went to Florida, splitting the hectic commercial parks (which were great fun) and the lovely beaches, spending a couple of weeks in each.
The next year we visited Turkey, which was so different it was unreal. I think I was too young to fully appreciate the country at the time, and although we had one or two bad experiences, I think I would like to go back there at some point.
My folks weren't overly impressed with Turkey, and we returned to Florida the next year. The following year- '99 I believe, we had a hectic, but memorable trip, touring America and Canada on the Eastern side. We managed to get through; New York, Boston, New England, Springfield (not the cartoon version much to my dissapointment), Atlantic City, Washington, Toronto, Montreal, Buffallo and others in a four week trip.
We went back to Florida a few more times before I was too old to go my parents. Though we did go to Disneyland Paris three consecutive years just me and my Dad which was nice. |
Europe with friends My first trip out of sunny England without the folks was with a college trip in which we visited the battlegrounds, museums and cemetaries that were left by WW1. We travelled by coach accross the Sommes, Paris and all sorts of other areas in Belguim and France. It was a surreal experience, with daytime being filled with emotion, sorrow and disbelief, and the evenings getting pissed beyond recognition. I went to Disneyland with my then girlfriend in May 2003, and we had a lot of fun. I then went to Amsterdam in October 2003 which was the first holiday in which I could really... 'enjoy' myself. It was a wonderful city, and I enjoyed a coffee or two over there. Just two months after Amsterdam I went to the beautiful Barcelona, and instantly fell in love with the city. I was with my girlfriend of the time, and couldn't resist the opportunity to watch FC Barcelona Vs Real Madrid at the Nou Camp. What an experience that was! We split up the following month. But, then how often do you get the chance to see a game like that! :) I loved the city so much that when we arranged our next group holiday (much the same crowd as the Amsterdam lot) I suggested Barca, and once I was able to obtain tickets for not only the Barca-Depor league match, but the Barca-Milan CL match as well they were sold on the idea. It was a crazy trip, but incredibly fun filled, with ups and downs. We had rented an apartment over there overlooking the zoo, and could actually see jaguars from our window! |
Weymouth I live in Weymouth in the South of Dorset. To the traveller it is a beautiful town, with a wonderful beach, and atmospheric town centre. For the local it is repetitive, boring and rapidly being taken over by chavs! |
Weymouth FC Manchester Utd are my 'big' team, but my Saturday afternoons are spent following my beloved Terras around the country. We are currently playing in the Conference South league, and seem to have a diffrent regime in charge each week, but that's a whole different issue. www.theterras.co.uk http://www.score-check.co.uk/sni tz

Maya My best friend Tony was given the perfect 21st birthday present in September 2004, when his fiancee Tess gave birth to Maya. She is a beautiful girl, and I wish I couls see more of her, but Tony's capacity in the RAF limits those opportunities. |
ASIA BABY!!!!! In April 2005 I made the most radical and best action I have in quite some time. After falling victim to years of boredom, working an oh so tedious office job three years, I finally got my arse in gear and did something about it. I quit my job and spent a few months exploring South East Asia, a trip that opened my eyes, and changed percetions.
I took so many memories from such a short time, and am eternally grateful for my experience. I will be back! |
