Molokai Travel Guide: 115 reviews and 166 photos

From the reefs of the South shore to the soaring sea cliffs of the North shore, Molokai has a countless variety of pristine beaches. The interior has rugged mountains in the East and the drier flatter West is covered with only farms, small rural towns, a coffee plantation and an abundance of unspoiled nature. Molokai has no high rise buildings and only a few two lane streets (some just dirt roads) and only one traffic light. More than half the population of Molokai are Hawaiians who honor and protect their native culture. If you want to see Hawaii the way it used to be visit beautiful lay back Molokai also known as 'the friendly island'.

Molokai must definitely move on a slower pace than Oahu, where we traveled this summer. This part of the world is truly a paradise...I enjoyed your site, Nancy.

Excellent Molokai page - brought back many pleasant memories of our visit there a few years ago. Would love to return now that I have a digital camera.

Absolutely dreamy page on Molokai. I would have loved the tour to the Macadamia Nut Farm as my favourite cookie is one with macadamia nuts and chunks of white chocolate chips. MMM!

Love the sunset photo--like a postcard. Of all the Islands, I have had the least time in Molokai and now I want to go back! :-) Ann, The Travel Slut

Very interesting. I had known about the leprosy colony, but this was very informative.

What a delightful, little written about, page about Molokai. Beautiful photographs and very interesting text.

You took three very interesting-sounding tours here, the Damien Tours given by patients, the Macadamia Nut Farm tour and the coffee plantation tour in a mule-drawn wagon. And they even have nice beaches and sunsets.
