The midieval Cathedral city of Slaisbury (like all of the UK I've seen) is very picturesque. The Salisbury Cathedral was founded in 1220.It s spire , the tallest in the UK can be seen for miles. We stayed in a historical Mill Inn located near the Avon river. We walked to the nearby Cathedral which was surrounded by a meadow with grazing sheep. It was a lovely peaceful setting . |

Tugboatguy Sat Nov 1, 2008 02:58 UTC Stonehenge proved to be an ancient time clock of sorts, showing vernal & autumnal equinoxes, among other phenomena, with dawn light shining through a certain slit in a rock & falling on a particular stone. So, the pagans were early astronomers. Doug | Nemorino Sun Mar 9, 2008 23:08 UTC I have some friends who describe themselves as pagans, and they love Stonehenge. I've never been there myself, so I don't really have an opinion. | LoriPori Mon Jan 14, 2008 12:07 UTC I'm with you. I don't see the big deal about Stonehenge. | Bangkokjoe Fri Apr 15, 2005 05:35 UTC You are right on Stonehenge. You are NOT a minority! It always reminds me of a American Football summer camp practice pitch! |
