New Plymouth is well known for it's volcano. Its European name is 'Mt Egmont' But today many people prefer to call it by its Maori name Mt Taranaki' .New Plymouth was the location of the the movie 'Last Samurai ' starring Tom Cruise. They digitally removed the point on the top of the volcano so it could pass as Mt Fuji in ancient Japan. The reason NZ is so becoming popular for several movies is that it has not been mass developed like so many other countries & has an abundance of nature still unspoiled. New Plymouth is located on the west coast of the North Island in NZ.

Nice photo of Mount Egmont. It was in the clouds and wet when we were there, will have to go back for another look.
New Plymouth is a place I missed in NZ. Well, got to go back one day :). Those farmstays must be great.
Playing music to cows sounds like a good idea producing milk & cultured cows!! Nice page I love a rural location!!
I am so jealous of that Tui Watercooler, even if it is Photoshopped!
Very nice tips about your great farmstay and that honest coach driver. (I had a similar experience in Germany, actually; a railroad employee who found my wallet and brought it back to me after she got off work.)
Looks like you had a lovely time here Nancy and isn't it fun to have a local VTer show you around!
knew you been meeting missy :-)) see her page too, you captured the Naki well..I gotta go to N.P. too..just to play a lil at the Schoolbus stop Netball LOL
Haha gotta love the Naki, i love it here, its gonna be strange to move from here soon )-; great pages AGAIN nancy, rising vt star as pam baby says!!!
Wow Nancy, the pictures are very dear to my heart, and you have captured our humble area beautifully. You are truly an adopted Kiwi
Wow Nancy, your heart truly belongs to NZ. I am looking forward to reading more of your pages. Kat
