Lovely... | me in the beach of Santa Barbara |
Absolutely lovely!!! Santa barbara is a beautiful city in the north of Los Angeles, California. I came to Santa Barbara when I was 17 years old in a interchange program to improve my english and i think it was the perfect choice. I was received by a host family so I had the great chance to live the life as an american, with the rules of the house and with their own culture, that is very different than Chile, the food, the schedules, and the people. The experience was fantastic, I was lucky to have such a nice family there and a nice and lovely roomate from Japan. I also knew a lot of people from all over the world, many friends that we are still in touch, people that I will never forget. |
| | Santa Barbara is often referred as the “American Riviera". It is a city with Spanish colonial architecture. This community was settled around the same time the English colonies were staging their big revolt in another part of the country. Before that, local Native American tribes had lived along the shores for thousands of years. Santa Barbara is located 90 miles north of Los Angeles and 350 miles south of San Francisco. The entire metro area is sandwiched between the Santa Ynez mountains to the north and the Santa Barbara Channel to the south. Santa Barbara is a medium sized city with an official population of about 90000. However, surrounding communities, including Carpinteria, Summerland, Montecito, and Goleta combined give a population closer to 400000. |
| | A lot to do here This city is famous for its shopping and restaurants. The mountains provide hiking and other activities in the open air. There are many activities of art like music, theatre and the famous film festival in march. There is also the harbor and the beautiful beaches, It is common to see beautiful sail boats and yachts slipping in and out of the harbor's mouth. The weather is great, i went in winter and I have to say that was even warm some days, never too cold and there were a few rains and many shine days. |
