Soupçon: Unreservedly Recomended

Soupçon is a superb restaurant on 2 floors right in the heart of the Calvin old town, it is open Monday to Saturday until 1am.
I had the superb ostrich fillet, the waiter took the time to explain not to ask for this to be cooked any more than medium. The menu said a Szeuchan style but it was served as a Western dish
I had Tarte fine à la mangue et ananas - mango and pineapple tart to finish, delicious, with delicious Genevan white wine.
Good atmosphere good service great menu great meal !

Favorite Dish: Filet d'autruche au poivre de Széchuan - Szeuchan style peppered ostrich steak, best not too well done.

Dolce Vita: Restaurant - Pizzeria Dolce Vita Review

For SHF 29.50 (about £12/ US$23) you get a choice of dishes from the touristy Menu.
I had perch and chips - pretty ordinary. Perch is caught on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) so I was keen to try it but not dissimilar from , say, mackerel, and not a patch o the sea bass fromn Au Jeu du L'arc.
Nice smoked salmon starter, the pasta was huge although served as a starter, three courses included a chocolate mousse (dessert of the day only for the cheap Menu)

Au Jeu De L'Arc: Restaurant Italien

Au Jeu De L'Arc is an absolute gem to knock yourself out. Despite the short 4 night stay we visited twice on the first and last nights. Everything from the grilled sea bass and accompaniments to the raviolis were exemplary. Excellent Genevoise white wines.
This was the most we spent in Switzerland but certainly no more expensive than Scotland, or the UK for that matter, and a quality you would scour cities for.

The Spahetti Factory: Pizza Hut meets Bella Pasta

This is an Italian restaurant which, although it does offer a few mains like lamb and rump steak, is really a pizza and pasta house. It is a chain-franchise with 6 locations in Switzerland including Bern and 2 in Zurich.

Decent selection of salads and wines, the disposable place mats are the menus !

Another option to eat for less than £10/ US$20 a head.

Favorite Dish: We had my usual anchovy pizza, and a Hawaiin (ham and pineapple) which is so curiously rare in Italy

Chez Ma Cousine: You CAN choose your family!! Chez ma Cousine Review

The house specialty is a ½ spit roasted chicken, provençale potatoes, French dressing salad (mainly lettuce) for a princely 13.90 CHF - just over £5/ about US$10.

They do lamb the same way for a mere CHF14.90 (but don't expect a half sheep!)

Smokey (but isn't everywhwere in Geneve?) but a relazed atmosphere and mixed, mostly youngish crowd. Don't be put off as it alwayss looks full from outside but there is a narrow yet long,long way to go in to further tables .

Had 500ml / ½ litre house Swiss white wine at 17 CHF and other incidentals, total was 63 CHF for two, just the wrong side of about £12 / US$22 each for a supposedly expensive city.

Also Chez Ma Cousine is nigh inflation proof - Lonely Planet Switzerland (2000) states it is CHF 12.90 for the house special, still only CHF 13.90 seven years on !
