Pollensa Travel Guide: 31 reviews and 80 photos

Panoramic of Pollenca

Pollença is about 7km inland from the resot on the coast known as Puerto Pollença, like neighbouring Alcudia and Puerto Alcudia. The towns were originally built back from the ports to make them less vulnerable to pirates.
Pollensa to Puerto Pollença is walkable in a bit more than an hour, we walked back the way to Puerto Pollensa to catch the retuirn bus on our day trip after gettig the bus from Alcudia

What's in a name?

Pollença's name comes from the Roman settlement of "Pollentia," the remains of the town though are in what is today Alcúdia

Three suggestions............

What we caught in a few hours was

1) The Calvari steps to great views

2) The museum of Dionís Bennàssar (1/8th of the way up said steps!)

3) The Roman bridge so these will make uyp my things to do tips

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Great views from Calvari
  • Cons:Just don't plan too much time here
  • In a nutshell:Sleepy slice of North Mallorcan life away from the beaches
