Cefalu is on the North coast of Siciliy between Palermo and Messina, nearer the former. It has a much visited duomo and is emerging as the main rival to Taormina as a resort. No expansive intro - we only really used this as a beach resort, much preferrred to the far far overcrowded Mondello. From the beach it is very scenic to stand in the surf and look back.......
Two beds and an umbrella for the day cost about Eu14 to Eu16, toilets and showering facilities
- Pros:Pleasant beach and clean sea with scenic town backdrop
- Cons:Still hardly agoraphobic beach side !
- In a nutshell:Gets my vote a country mile ahead of Mondello in Palermo

Also in Cefalu...... La Rocca is an energetic 280 M climb to the above ruin. Or so I'm told. Next time maybe - take... more travel advice
