I have put this as 'off the beaten path' just because I am surprised at how quiet the locale is (for pedestrian traffic anyway!) - it is hardly out of the way or one where you will get lost. The Via Quattro Fontane is off Via Nazionale, near the Piazza della Republicca end, and the Quattro Fontane are at its intesection with Via XX Settembre - just up from Palazzo Barberini. An interesting and unexpected crossroads, not unlike the Quattro Canti / Four Corners in Palermo, just that they do not significantly divide Rome up into districts the way the corners do.
