St James Cavalier - Centre for Creativity: Culture

The amazing and historical Manoel Theatre is not he only theatre in Valletta.

One of the first structures to be constructed within the city walls was the Cavalier of St James. The purpose of the Cavalier was to provide raised gun-platforms to counteract land attacks. It was a utilitarian building, indicative and typical of its military strategic function. The building has found a new use, that of a Centre for Creativity.

While the Manoel theatre is more mainstream in it's programme, St James does alternative stuff. We have watched a few World Cinema films (at less than LM3 a film, it was real value for money!) and seen some very interesting local theatre productions.
