Skerries is situated 18 miles north of Dublin city. And what can I say.... it is a fantastic place to live. The population is just over 9,000 but the town has a real community feel to it. There are sports clubs galore. Pubs and restaurants are great - Try Stoop your Head on the Harbour for fantastic seafood. And on a good summer's day there is the beach which is a mile long and really safe for kids. The town is steeped in history and is a great place to spend the day.
- Pros:Close to Dublin and really lovely in the summer
- Cons:No hotel at the moment (but plenty of B&Bs)
