Dublin Fair City

River Liffey, Dublin
In Dublin fair city...where the girls are so pretty...

Headed off to Dublin in the month of August to celebrate KB's birthday and and had a great 'craic'. We crammed alot into our time - took a train ride out of Dublin, saw the Book of Kells and walked alot.

We also drank alot of Guinness and ate alot of potatoes!

Coastal scenery on route to Dalkey...

Bray and Black Rock

Witnessed some lovely scenery on route to Dalkey.

It was pleasant weather rather too cool for an Amapola to swim, but the Irish were all out in their swimsuits, covered in suncream and having a ball at the seaside.

We had a good 'fish dinner' in a pub in Black Rock, much more reasonably priced than Dublin city center.
The Needle

The Needle

Around the corner from our hotel, was 'The Needle' on O Connell St - which I snapped during a quick shopping trip.

Sadly, most shops near us in the shopping center, (I think, Henry St) were English and of the usual coporate kind, so it wasn't that different from home - but I was soothed by a small glass of cold Guinness in a really old little bar, full of colour and personalities.

Cut through a different way back and found a little market (which I think was Moore St. ) and some quirkier independent shops which was much more appealing.

If you're going to Dublin, take plenty of cash, it is very expensive.

No Dubs ever go out in Temple Bar, not that we can afford to, but we leave it to the tourists :-)
