I was born in Adana, among orange trees!!! My family had left the city when i was 3 years old, but we keep visiting Adana since my grandparents and some relatives still live in Adana.
During my childhood we used to go to Adana every summer, but we never stayed in the city center since it is very very very hot during summer. We were spending the summer at a summer-house on Tekir (a plateu on Toros chain of mountains). |
| | Orange Trees... In recent years, i visit Adana during religous festivals (since we have 5-10 days holidays during those festivals). Lastly, i've been to Adana in Sacrificial Holiday of 2005. In my last visit, i tried to look at the city from a tourist's perspective. It is not difficult to see that the city is not a touristic one; there is not eneough guidance for tourists in the city towards the places that might be attractive for them....However, this does not mean there is not much to see in the city....the beauties of the city are waiting to be discoverd by the curious tourists.
On my part, the favourite aspect of the city is the seville orange trees in the streets. The streets smell very nice, thanks to these trees.... |
