I've lived at Ankara for almost 2 years

-Discovering a new city-

Ankara is the capital of Turkish Republic. This city hosted many civilizations during history and since 1923, it is the administrative center of our country.

I moved to Ankara from Bursa in April 2005 due to a change in my business.

At first, i did not like it at all. This city seemed to me a very dark, boring place full of unamiable buildings.

Then, i tried to discover the city and find out its beauties.

Now, i have moved back to Bursa I am planing to go to Ankara as frequently as i can to visit my sister living there. I want to share some places i like at Ankara with you.

The Museums of Ankara

Altinpark and Science Center
I enjoyed visiting Feza Gursey Sicence Center and relaxing at a cafe near by the lake in middle of Altinpark. Please visit my Altinpark tip to learn more.

Independence War and Ataturk Museum
Old Ataturk Museum inside Anitkabir. was renovated as Independence War and Ataturk Museum. It makes the visitors feel the ambiance of the days of Independence War and it is very impressive.

Metu Technology and Science Museum
A very new museum is opened in Ankara:It is in the Middle East Technical Campus. I had oppurtunity to watch how they build it from my office window day by day. If you ever come to METU campus, it worths visiting this new museum.

Anatolia Civilizations Museum
I visited the Anaolia Civilizations Museum with my sister. It is a place that must be seen when you come to Ankara. The tip is here

Etnography Museum, Rahmi Koc Museum
This Sunday (22 August 2005) i visited 2 museums and they were great: The Etnography Museum and the Rahmi Koc Industry Museum. You can find information about them on my AnkaraTravel Tips.
