Dar el Siam: A true oasis in the midst of the medina

There are places you book online with great expectations... this was one of them, and for the price, it seemed too good to be true. I was a bit nervous to be honest. However, I can say without reservation that this beautiful riad in the heart of the medina is by far the most wonderful place I've ever been lucky enough to call home for a few days. And I do mean call -home-.

Unique Qualities: The staff here was delightful, in fact, I hesitate to call them staff, instead I wish to call them friends.

The decor and lay out, so peaceful, cozy and inviting, not to mention idea inspiring!

The breakfast each morning with delicious fresh squeezed orange juice and Moroccan pastries and such is exquisite and served whenever you get up, no time to adhere to.

The scrumptuous Moroccan multi-course dinners they'll prepare for you upon request are romantic and lovely.

The steaming sweet mint tea they'll prepare for you upon request is so gracious and delicious.

The serene plunge pool is such a delight after a hot day strolling the souks.

The shared sitting areas, both comfortable and stylish, ideal for meeting your fellow riad companions.

The minimalistly chic design, so subtly Asian and Moroccan at once, in each of the carefully decorated rooms.

And the terrace, oh my gosh! This place was heaven, by day for a touch of Moroccan sunshine, or if you wish, a reflective place to sit and think beneath a canopy. And by night- the place to bring a bottle of wine as you relax in a lounge chair soaking up the sounds of the call to prayer, the drum beats wafting through the air from Djemma and the infectious laughter of the Marrakeshi children playing in the passages below.

I can't praise this place enough. I can't express how much I hope to return to it one day. And soon...

We paid just 900 dirham or 90 euro a night for pure paradise.

I have more pics for anyone who'd want to see them.
