I found these dabloons this weekend in my old desk at my mom's house and they got me to thinking about LA. I lived there for 5 years, but I have never been back. I miss it sometimes and were it not for the difficulty of making planned long term trips, I would go often.

We Lived in a small town called Henderson just off of I-10. We had Bayou Amy (pronounced ommee) running in our backyard and it was a wonderland for two tom boys growing up.

We built a swamp house, climbed oak trees, had many a camp out in friends yards, and played hide and seek in the cemetery (all the "burials" were done above the ground due to being below sea level).

I have many happy memories and I hope to revive them soon by visiting.

• Pros:Good food, good, people, good times.
• Cons:HOT!!! Too many fire ants!
• In a nutshell:My home for many years...of course I loved it!
