I've stayed at Caesars, Treasure Island (twice), Rio, Monte Carlo, Bourbon Street (don't ask), Excalibur (first time, yikes), and the Luxor a couple of times.
Location? The south end is the nicest, so it's good. It's connected to Mandalay Bay (you can pretend you're staying there ;) Who stays at the north end of the strip? Freaks.
The buffet is very good for the price ($10.49 for lunch!) and it's laid out spaciously.
Unique Qualities: Don't go comparing it to the Bellagio or the Venetian. Look at the difference in price! Stay in the towers. They are nicer, bigger, and cleaner than the pyramid rooms. The pool area is nice and the spa is great ($20 gets you 24 hrs of usage, incl the fitness area). Check-in can be long. I've seen the line ups but I've always checked in at odd times so I haven't experienced it.
Don't ask me about the shows, I was too drunk :) The Luxor, in my opinion, is the best value for your money on the strip. Now I'll be staying at the Luxor again in a few weeks...yeehaw!
