Girls and their trucks head to Toronto to see VT

LoriPori and keida84
On the road to Toronto LoriPori, Waaleweiner and Keida84 (pronounced Key-da not Kai-da) have packed up the "truck" and headed out to go to Toronto. Oh yes and we brought Hansi as well. Afterall, someone had to do the driving!
GrandDad standing on the right with the ukelele

My first airplane ride came when I was 12

My father never knew his dad as his mother (in the string of many husbands) left before my father was old enough to remember his father. She always told him he was dead. It wasn't until 1958 that my Dad quite by accident learned his father was alive and living in Toronto. Father and son tried to forge a relationship as best they could. My grandfather had remarried to a lovely woman named, "Lil" who was felled by a brain tumor and had use of only 1 arm. My grandfather cared for her until the day he died.

In the summer of 1971, we took a trip East to Toronto, my grandfather actually lived in Windsor, Ontario. My favorite memory is Grandpop sneaking a dollar into my hand and then telling us to go get some ice cream at the Dairy Queen on the corner. We got to go to the Science and Industry museum, I thought that was the best museum ever! I look forward to this coming September so I can visit there again and the Dairy Queen will have been replaced by Tim, Tim Horton that is!

For this travelogue I am having a contest. Who can come up with the most appropriate caption for a particular photo:
