Restaurant Name: Pascucci's
Located on State Street in Santa Barbara, Pascucci's is a nice moderately priced restaurant with very good food. There is outside cafe' seating as well as inside seats as well. I had no idea how cavernous this establishment was as we wound our way through several seating areas. On a Monday evening in late October there were many customers and the place was very busy. Despite the fact that the restaurant was busy we were seated right away and the service was excellent and efficient.
Favorite Dish: Now I am a very picky eater, not adventursome at all when it comes to food, but for some reason I was willing to try something new. I had the butternut squash ravioli in a sage butter sauce. This I can say was delicious. Kristi ordered the Portebella mushroom raviolis which she said were very good, but as for the Shrimp Scampi she said it was too lemony and overcooked. Since we spent our late afternoon in Solvang (home of the best Danish Pastry) we did not order dessert.

Restaurant Name: State and A Bar & Grill
The State and A has been around for years. It is a favorite of my husband's because he use to go there after teaching at UCSB and people watch from the heated outside patio. It is open 7 days a week and there is live entertainment of Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Favorite Dish: There is a wide variety of different dishes to choose from. The soups and desserts are all homemade and they slow roast their beef and turkey so it is moist and tender. My husband's favorite is their Nachos, I recommend getting a half order unless you are going to share as the full serving is HUGE!

The Cajun Kitchen: Homestyle Cooking

Restaurant Name: The Cajun Kitchen
This has been a staple in the Santa Barbara community for over 20 years. They are busy all the time and even if you are staying in a bed and breakfast, you definitely think twice about breakfast at the Cajun Kitchen. There are 3 locations: Carpinteria, Goleta and the one I am writing about on Chapala Street in Santa Barbara. The ambiance is nothing to report on but the food, well, that's what we come for. Remeber this is a local restaurant, expect it to be busy, espeically on the week ends.
Favorite Dish: I like the Cajun spice potatoes with plain old bacon and eggs, I actually am not an adventurous eater and fairly picky too. My husband is the one who likes to try different things. He ordered Jambalaya with eggs. Now I don't like shrimp but even I had a taste (sans the shrimp) and the flavor of the dish was marvelous.
