San Diego Another Blissful Seaside Town

Misty has got a spell on me

Misty and Me
This picture is of one of the top 10 travel memories I have had to date. It was taken at Sea World at the Dolphin Education Encounter. The trainer had said, "Whatever you do, don't cover the dolphin's blowhole." So what does Kat do? Well, I was so excited when Misty swam on to my outstretched knee that I hugged her and laid my cheek on top of her head and...covered her blowhole!

Well, I bolted my head upright and said, "Misty, I am so sorry!" With that Misty arched her back through her tail up in the air and chittered, it was at that precise moment this picture was taken. It was one of those frozen perfect moments in time when the unity of all existence is manifest. A moment both fleeting and infinite.
So begins my San Diego page. I have spent some time in San Diego during the 1980's. I went to massage school there. My favorite place in all of San Diego is the Old Town District. There you will find a myriad of shops, restaurants and historical points of interest to keep you occupied for several days.

If you are interested in haunted places, don't miss the Thomas Whaley House, they have nighttime tours for those not-so-faint-of-heart.

The Bazaar Del Mundo has several great mexican restaurants: Casa De Bandini, Rancho el Nopal and Casa De Pico that are always busy and many shops to spend some of your hard earned cash.

Hertiage Park Bed and Breakfast is a restored victorian home in Heritage Park Row.

This bed and breakfast is in a convenient location, particularly since San Diego's red trolley and Coaster train stop at the Old Town station, at the northen end of the park.

What an experience to be with the dolpins :o) I love dolphins from afar; I have a phobia about their little tiny sharp teeth ....
