"A Great Weekend" a Krakow Travel Page by stevehallam

We visited Krakow for 2 nights - 1 1/2 days. We went on an guided pub crawl on the friday night (courtesy of helen at stagrepublic), visited Auschwitz on Saturday, and explored the bars and clubs ourselves on the Saturday night.
Our Hotel was reasonably priced and central. The friendly hotel staff organised our airport transfers for us and oranised a minibus and driver for our trip to Auschwitz.
All in all it was great weekend. I made the trip with an all male group and am now keen to make the same trip with my wife as there are many sites I did not get the chance to see..

Although we hired a guide for the first night, we needn't have bothered. there are plenty of pubs and bars and clubs all within a square Km -know locally as the Square. The main plus point of guide is to just to gain a little inside knowledge - our guide booked us a tabel at C.K.Browar - a great bar that served beer in 5 litre (yes 5 litre) towers. If he hadn't booked us a table we wouldn't have been able to have these.

On our travels we met a dutch guy called Jessie. He'd misplaced his friends on a pub crawl - so we invited him to join us!
Later on we managed to repatriate him with his buddies and all was OK.
They were a good bunch and beer flowed! I seem to remember they were from Eindhoven - so if you are ever in eindoven and meet Jessie say Hello for us.
Also one of his mates was the absolute double of Ruud Van Nistelroy! Maybe there is a whole town of Dutch looky likeys!
