"Sint-Oedenrode" Sint-Oedenrode by Twan

St. Oedenrode (local: Rooi) is a moderately urbanized village and capital of the eponymous municipality in the province of North-Brabant. The place is situated in the Bailiwick of 's-Hertogenbosch. St. Oedenrode counts 17,853 inhabitants and has an area of 64.25 km ². It consists of the main village St. Oedenrode and smaller villages Nijnsel, Boskant and Olland.

The town has traditionally city rights and was in the past as a spot labeled. Today it is still a large village. From southeast to northwest is the town bisected by the river Dommel. In 1999 the town was the greenest village in the Netherlands in the National Entente Floral competition. Based on this first place in the national competition in 2000 was St. Oedenode participate in the European final. The place was then named the greenest town in Europe.
I live in Sint-Oedenrode since 2006 before that I lived 1 year in 's-Hertogenbosch and 2 years in Hoensbroek. I was born and raised in Zijtaart.

Knoptoren

The Knob Tower (Dutch: Knoptoren). The old parish church stands in Eerschots since 1648 as a Presbyterian church. In 1800 the tower, dating from around 1400 lost its spire. In the past, here the tomb of the Lords of the castle De Laar.

Henkenshage

Castle Henkenshage. A former fortified farmhouse, in the fourteenth century was known as Strijpe or Streepe. This was bought in 1850 by Peter Jacob Girard Mielet of Coehoorn and as a country got its present form. In fact, the building is therefore not a real castle, but a mansion.
