"Vientiane Laos" Vientiane by Twan

Vientiane (Lao: ວຽງ ຈັນ Wieng Chan, IPA: [wiəŋ-ʧan]), is the capital of Laos and the country is located in the Vientiane Prefecture (Kamphaeng Nakhon Wieng Chan). The city has about 400,000 inhabitants. The city lies on the northern bank in a bend in the Mekong river. The name comes from Wieng Wieng Chan (city or town with walls) and Chan (the Lao deformation of the Sanskrit term Chandana sandal that means). The French were the Romanization spelling to Vientiane. Vientiane together with Phnom Penh in Cambodia and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) considered the 3 classic French Indo Chinese cities.

These are associated with the classic European colonial architecture. In the city are also 3 important temples, namely:

Pha That Luang, actually called a stupa (that), and not a temple (wat)
Haw Pha Kaew
Wat Si Saket
