there are heaps of guesthouse in Pak beng. Most are very cheap but very simple, with rats.
mine was fine though and i payed under $2 for a double.
it was clean and warm and had communal showers.
i forgot the name but as you walk up the hill it is the first guesthouse to the left. it has a nice restuarant out the front

Was preety much the only one available but was very nice , clean and friendly. It had no hot water "obviously" but i enjoyed my stay there.
