Perhaps some people have "bucket list" of some sort or things they would like to accomplish or see before they die. I guess with the advent of modern tourism it becomes increasingly difficult to have a genuine "Travel experience" or things which are so enviously unusual that few had experienced the same. After having having been to so many places and having experienced things others could have only dreamed of i have realised that it is all about expectations. I am currently working for UNESCO in Kathmandu and had the opportunity to visit the Everest Himalaya by small plane. I remember looking out the window, seeing the sheer beauty of the mountains and everest itself as tears started rolling down my face...perhaps for me it was a bucket list experience. Then, as i looked to my side, i saw my colleagues sleeping or reading a book, completely oblivious to what i was seeing outside.... once again expectations

Hey Shaun, "Happy Birthday", with all my best wishes .... :)
HI do you know of a guide for the Mru people close to Alikadam on the Mataruri River area? We would need a permit to enter their area so we can't wait till we arrive to find a local guide? We arrive in Chittagong on April 8 and only need someone for a few days. thanks so much, jackie

Hello; I understand what you say when you speak about expectations. Hy, my name is César and I just spent my vacations in Brittany. I had been to France previously, but never went this region before, I haved to say I'm still shocked by what I saw and experienced, shocked in a possitive way. Some friends invited me and spent a month, June 2011, with them in the countryside near Ploermel; one day we all went and visited Mont Saint Michel (I've seen your photos, great place) and I have to confess I had to walk away a little from them because I started to cry of the emotion of being there for the first time in my life (I hope it's not the last), I don't now to this moment if they would understand that feeling. I'm ctelle98, I live in Mexico City and haven't travel as much as you have; I see that you work for UNESCO, that gives you the chance to travel that much, how do you make it in those organisms?
You are lucky to live in such a great city! Happy Birthday!
