The construction of Ponte (Bridge) de Maria Pia began on 5 January 1.876 and finished on 31 November .877. Inauguration ceremony took place on 4 November 1.877 by the king D. Luís and the queen D. Maria Pia, after whom the bridge was named. This bridge was used for 114 years, until 1.991, when the Ponte S. João (S. João Bridge) became active. The Ponte do Infante Prince was inaugurated on 30 March 2.003 following a project by the engineer Adão da Fonseca. With a 371 metres long and 20 metres wide deck. Pics: - Main: Ponte D. The most famous bridge in Porto, over the Douro river. Works began in 1.881 and the inauguration was on 31 October 1.886. The arch comprises 172 m. of cord and is 44.6 m. tall.

The Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Echange Palace) belonged to the Porto Commercial Association and started building the Palácio da Bolsa, its seat and property in 1.842. A Cultural and Conference Centre, the Palácio da Bolsa is a venue with unique conditions for holding concerts, debates, presentations, general meetings, receptions, conventions, incentives, conferences, commercial shows, auctions, varied exhibitions, fashion shows and other medium-sized events. Things To Do: Igreja S. Francisco

The São Francisco Church is one of the few remaining medieval buildings in Porto. Also, it is the only Gothic church in the city. It was part of a Franciscan convent and its construction lasted from the late 14th century until the early 15th century. A church not to miss.
