I booked a 4 day PADI diving course at Black tip diving centre when I was leaving Ko phangan and was hoping that I had made a good choice from well over 30 dive operators on the island. The pick- up ride over the mountain in the centre of the island to the very secluded Tanote Bay was mad. The roads were so steep and rutted it was beyond uncomfortable, but at the same time it felt exiting when the bay emerged. It reminded me of something from James Bond.Black tip is a very professional centre with incredibly friendly staff - Thai and foreign. The bungalows were great, shame about the massive hunstman spider in the bathroom though! unfortunately I was alone on my course, but at least it meant we stayed down as long as I wanted. Still we got to dive with other groups occassionally so it wasnt too bad. The water was very clear and the coral and fish species beautiful. I would recomend this company to anyone. |
