Salento is located near Manizales in the area of the Cocora Valley. It is a fantastic place to explore the Cocora Valley, Coffee fincas, and a few theme parks not too far away. The town is clean, small, and very local. On weekends it gets a little crowded with Colombians traveling from the big cities, but the rest of the time it's very quiet. It was definitely one of our highlights in Colombia.

There are amazing hikes in and around Salento including the Cocora Valley. It is VERY easy to extend your stay once you visit. We came for a day, and stayed for a week.

    Salento and the surroundings looks lovely! It is defenitly on my list for my next visit to Colombia.
