Paris 2012 Olympic Bid
Paris is a beautiful city jam packed with history, culture, art and activity. The metropolitan (tube) system makes it simple to travel within the city and links well to trains that travel outside of the main city. A five day rail pass cost 21 pound and provided access to all transport methods inside the main part of the city.
Eifell Tower

Eiffel Tower

A visit to Paris is not complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower, so we decided to visist twice to make our visit worthwhile. The first time was at night, and the second the following day. It was spectacular at night, particularly when the lights on the tower flash. This occurs on the hour every hour for about 15 minutes. We also climbed (caught the elevator) to the top level for a great view over Paris. Extremely cold and windy, but a great view and lasting memory.
During the day the tower is still specatcular, but it is placed in the context of its surroundings, some fantastic gardens and monuments.
Paris Beauty

Architecture

We took a bus tour to view many of the city's great architectural structures. Honestly, i could have taken thousands of photos of similarly beautiful and stunning buildings situated in Paris. Unfortunately, it was not easy to capture their glory in our photo and is best appreciated with your own eyes if you are lucky enough.

But did the Jiggy-Jiggy bands help ;-) I should have known that an Aussie would be publicising the Paris 2012 bid when he's living in the UK! Nice page Mark!

It sure looked freezing cold on that bus! I met those sellers too and it was hard for them to understand a "no". At times they got very aggressive to people. Paris is beautiful, I loved it!
