Berlin has come across as a city that has not yet recovered the effects of its past. World War II saw the destruction of many of its important and impressive buildings. Coupled with the division of the city due to the Berlin Wall it has not yet completed the rebuilding of these buildings. THis picture shows bullet holes in the side of a building which are yet to be plastered over.
The amount of roadworks and scaffolding illustrates that this is now being done and in 5 or so years Berlin will be a stunning city to visist. |

Berlin Wall We explored the Berlin wall using the Bike Berlin tour company. Behind the wall in this photo is the 'topography of terror' memorial which is a series of photos and info outline the events of the 30's and 40's. See my things to do list for more info on both of these activities. | | |
