"Stuff to do in Bangkok" a Bangkok Travel Page by Yijie

I guess most tourists going to Bangkok will be doing shopping, eating and some "night entertainment". For shopping, you can go to Chatuchak Market, Pratunam Market and Mah Boon Krong (MBK) shopping center. Personally, I prefer MBK and Pratunam to Chatuchak. It's true that some stuff you can find in MBK may be more expensive, sometimes even double of that in Chatuchak but comfort-wise, the sweltering heat of the enclosed stalls in Chatuchak is rather unbearable for me. For eating, I recommend Chinatown where the seafood are cheap. It is famous for the ultra cheap shark fins soup. Bear in mind that the quality and quantity may not be what you expected. Instead, you may end up eating slightly more expensive and better ones. (A good advertising gimmick that attracts people here and it works!) Patpong is notorious for "night entertainment" but I haven't watch the widely mentioned Tiger Show yet. Instead, I went for the Mambo Show which is quite entertaining and it features singing and dancing performances etc. by the local transvestites.

I shop more, I eat more, I walk more

On my latest trip, I went to Platinum Fashion Mall, other shopping complexes in Pratunam, Suan Lum Night Bazzar etc. These places are really shopping heavens, even for guys. :) Being more adventurous and with a larger company this time, we tried more roadside stalls and hawker food. I also tried their famous Black Canyon Coffee, Fuji Japanese Restaurant, Mr Bun etc. Fuji is really value for money. Traffic is still bad but you can stay closer to places where you usually roam. Now that I found my favorite shopping spot, my next trip should not be too far away!
