I live in Neverland!!

by Selenceline - last update: Sep 28, 2005

I am from Izmir, Turkey. I was living in Toronto for the past 3 years for my university education. At the age of 9, I started my first travel to Germany and Austria with my openminded family . Then, whenever I found time, chance and money, I continued to travel by myself. Not too many countries but I have some interesting experinces .I always found one reason to travel; language education is my best reason..

When visiting a country, I like to see more than 1 city, explore the real culture of the place, meet with its own people, enlarge my vision.. Even when we are travelling with my crazy family- it can be around Turkey or any part of the world- we drive all the way to see more than 1 place. I believe that downtowns, city centers don't reflect the reality of cities. Villages, rural areas are the best ways to breathe and understand where you are. Nature itself demostrates the real feelings, the history and the smell of a country. That's where like to go during my trips.

As a Turk, I can say that it is a lazy thing to live in a country where everybody is Turkish. When I say lazy, I mean everything like human behaviour, communication, even pschologhy. All these things affect the way you look over life, how u feel and react on people. I really feel kind of lazy in Turkey in some ways, because I don't need to know more about someone, I can have a judgement and have a small idea over people..which is very bad though... But people named this centuries ago, and they called this CULTURE. One strong culture living in one country. Does this bring peace though?

When I was living in Toronto things were opposite. I needed to try a lot to improve myself. I always had and wanted to be lively, creative, and more importantly work hard to get to know people and their culture, to communicate with them. Make them understand me and my culture.. It was always a fun experience to be living in a country where all cultures are settled and living in peace.. I wish Turkey will have the same inside relations about peace one day...

Me, I always like to be in a place where I can feel definetely that I am in Neverland..!!!!! A place that I' ve never been, people I' ve never seen,,, Everyday will be a new experience. It is so much exploring my mind and freeing my soul.

That's what I am looking for in life, a FREE MIND, with WITH PEACEFUL THOUGHTS.

With these, I believe that success, love, happiness and health will find me very soon.. I wish and pray for all, to myself and to every existence in the world.
